The Anatomy of Waiting

Image
I’ve been looking for things to say.   I have been afraid of staring at blank pages. What if someday I have nothing to say anymore? What if nothing I say interests anyone anymore? What if no one hears me? What if they hear me and laugh at my naiveté? So what am I going to write about? Like most of my recent posts, this too has been weeks and months in the making. I’ve been running away from saying the things I want to say. What if I say too much? Share too much? What if they laugh and roll their eyes, muttering about my presumptions? What if no one says a damn thing and I fall through the rabbit-hole of silence once again? On some days, I listen to one song on loop, willing it to weave a story in my head that transports me from my present. On other days, I run through my playlists, discarding old favourites like a moody teenager picking at food, too distracted to allow for the distraction of music and rhythm. Good Omens and the Small Joys of Becoming Oneself

Hi. If you’re here from the link in my Instagram bio following any of my videos, you can find my YouTube channel here . Sorry about the side-trip. You know how IG works. Only 1 link allowed at a time. My revived blog completed 2 years of staying active on the 16th of last month and I was unable to put up a post because, well, it has been a chaotic few weeks. Happy Belated Blog-Anniversary to me and to everybody reading this, because without you I would just be talking to myself which I do quite a lot anyway, but it’s more fun with you. So Thank You. I’ve lately been in love with Good Omens the show. And I’ve been giving some thought to why that is, and have come with the two primary reason why I love the show (and the book) so much. One is the philosophy it embodies, and second, the absolute joy with which the story is told, the love that is the soul of this screen story. Which is why, two thousand memes and fan videos later, it still resonates. Because honestly, all one ne...

A Sky Full of Sun and Stars

Before  the beginning was the  night . And the night was without boundaries and the night was without  end . In the beginning was  time . The relentless beat in which things could happen, in which everything could  become , dust could coalesce, matter could  exist . In that coming together, the  universe  was possible,  all  versions of it.  In  it, people could dream and die. In it, stars  burned  and  flared  and  went out. -       Neil Gaiman, Overture-04, A Madness of Stars Where did we come from? I remember once watching a documentary about circles. It began somewhere in Venice, with children skipping with circles they use in the circus. Taking that circle as a starting point, film proceeded to increase the diameter of the circle tenfolds. And so with each increase, the circle held Venice, and Europe, and Earth. Within a few leaps, it had reached the boundaries of the kno...
